Seamless Payment Via DEFT

DEFT PAYMENT SYSTEMS - OPTIONS FOR LEVY PAYMENTS

You will require a levy notice to pay your levy. If you do not have a notice or have lost your current notice, call our office and we will send you a replacement levy notice and confirm your correct mailing address at the same time.

Harvie Strata has made a number of payment options available from which you can choose. The details for each option are listed below for your convenience.

ONLINE
Go to http://www.deft.com.au. Click on the "Strata of Corporate Body Levy" option and follow the instructions. If you are already registered to pay by phone, you will be able to pay online immediately. Otherwise, you will have to download and submit a registration form.


TELEPHONE
Instructions are listed on the front tear-off portion of your levy notice. This service is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Prior to your first use, you must complete and submit a registation form. Please call 1 800 672 162 to have a registration form posted to you.

If you are using a credit card or have your bank account registered, you can pay over the phone by calling 1 300 30 10 90. For international calls, dial +612 8218 0012.


BPAY
Please contact your bank, credit union or building society to make levy payments directly from your cheque or savings account using BPay. You will be required to enter the biller code 96503 and the reference number printed on the front of the levy notice in the BPAY box.


BY MAIL
Instructions for mail-in payments are listed on the front tear-off portion of your levy notice. Cheques should be made payable to Macquarie Bank.

To pay by mail, post your levy payment slip and cheque to DEFT Payment Systems, GPO Box 4690, Sydney NSW 2001.


IN PERSON
You can pay your levies at any Post Office in Australia by cash, cheque or EFTPOS. Cheques should be made payable to Macquarie Bank. Please do not forget to take your levy notice with you.


CREDIT CARD

Two credit card payment methods are available: DEFT Online (www.deft.com.au) and DEFT Phonepay (1 300 30 10 90). You can make your levy payments using Visa, MasterCard, Bankcard, American Express or Diners Club cards. When you choose this payment option, a surcharge will be added to your levy payment, in line with reforms by the Reserve Bank of Australia. Only owners who choose to pay by credit card will pay the surcharge, rather than the owners corporation.

INTEREST ON UNPAID CONTRIBUTIONS
S.79 (2)
A contribution, if not paid at the end of one month after it becomes due and payable, bears until paid simple interest at an annual rate of 10 per cent or, if the regulations provide for another rate, that other rate.

WHEN CONTRIBUTION RECOVERABLE AS A DEBT
S.80 (1)
An owners corporation may recover as a debt a contribution not paid at the end of one month after it becomes due and payable, together with any interest payable and the expenses of the owners corporation incurred in recovering those amounts.
